Supervisory Supply Technician Help directs organizational unit operations through subordinates performing complex clerical, technical, and administrative assignments. Provides services in support of supply distribution program related to supply support operations. Conducts continuing review and analysis of assigned operational area and evaluates the effectiveness of work operations. Exercises control over the supply and distribution of assigned items to ensure optimum utilization of current assets, specialized storage activities, and rapid reaction time in support of DoD programs. Serves as a supervisor of an organizational unit. Completion of Supervisory Certification Program: Required To qualify for a Supervisory Supply Technician your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-08 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off / closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Reviews distribution patterns, geographical location, pipeline time, transportation requirements and storage mission pattern and distributes or redistributes assets accordingly. Experience in the administrative and technical nature of Distribution Supply Operations and Programs. B. Education: As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-05 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position. Physical Demands: Work is performed in office settings and warehouses. Work requires standing on hard surfaces maintaining balance for extended periods of time. Requires bending, stooping, reaching and twisting in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds. Heavier items may lift greater weights with assistance from others or using materials handling equipment. Must be capable of accomplishing emergency escape procedures from a captive aisle stock selector at heights of 40 feet. Work Environment: The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions such as working around moving parts, carts, or machines; exposure to adverse weather conditions; or exposure to irritant chemicals. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear, such as masks, coats, safety shoes, goggles, hearing protection and/or gloves. The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing. Applicants tentatively selected for employment in testing designated positions will undergo a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Refusal to undergo testing or testing positive for illegal drugs will result in withdrawal of the tentative job offer and a six-month denial of employment with DLA from the date of the drug test. Employees in drug testing designated positions are subject to random drug testing. The DLA drug testing panel tests for the following substances: marijuana, cocaine, opiates, heroin, phencyclidine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, fentanyl, norfentanyl, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), and opioids. Advisory: Use of cannabidiol (CBD) products may result in a positive drug test for marijuana. DLA employees are subject to Federal law and under Federal law, Marijuana is a Schedule I drug and is illegal.
