Job Summary and Qualifications The Nurse Extern PRN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to assist in providing high-quality, patient-centered care. You will collaborate with the clinical team to develop and implement care plans and perform direct and indirect patient care activities. Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout the care cycle. Assist with patient mobility by turning, positioning, and ambulating patients. Translate medical terminology to ensure understanding for patients and families regarding their condition and treatment plans. Educate patients and families on diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes necessary for their discharge and ongoing self-management. What qualifications you will need: Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing. Ability to create and regularly review a personal career development plan with a supervisor or preceptor. One year of completed nursing school is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
