Position Overview: Join our dynamic team as a Jewelry Assistant Supervisor, where you will work closely with the store manager to ensure smooth daily operations, drive sales, and create memorable experiences for our customers. In this role, you will be a key leader, stepping up to manage the store in the absence of the store manager while fostering a motivated and engaged sales team. Key Responsibilities: Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service; inspire fellow associates to adopt a Customer 1st mindset. Drive the profitability of the store through effective sales strategies and diligent control of shrink and expenses. Achieve personal sales goals by transforming customers’ special moments into lasting memories with beautifully presented jewelry. Assist the store manager in the training and ongoing development of the sales team, ensuring new members receive robust onboarding. Commit to personal performance targets that enhance sales, including credit applications, protection plans, and events. Build long-lasting emotional connections with customers through personalized clienteling. Help coordinate operational functions to ensure a seamless shopping experience in-store and online. Ensure merchandise is displayed according to corporate guidelines to maximize visual appeal. Guide customers in selecting the right jewelry and gems, providing expert advice on quality and value. Utilize your knowledge to explain product features and benefits persuasively during presentations. Conduct jewelry repairs, inspections, and cleaning services. Perform watch battery replacements and band adjustments with precision. Propose creative designs for custom jewelry based on customer preferences. Adhere to receiving and processing protocols to maintain inventory integrity. Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstock and understock situations. Analyze daily and weekly sales metrics, taking action as needed to optimize performance. Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally. Complete necessary incident reports accurately for both customer and associate incidents. Participate in inventory management processes and assist with case counts. Support time and attendance recordkeeping efficiently. Develop and manage staff scheduling while entering weekly work schedules for associates. Facilitate maintenance and upkeep of the store as required. Maintain flexibility to work varying shifts, including holidays and overtime when necessary. Occasionally travel to other locations to provide coverage as needed. Capable of performing all job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications: Desired Experience: Familiarity with company policies and procedures at Fred Meyer Jewelers. Previous management experience highly desirable. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, First Place, Act, and Intranet systems. Experience leading or participating in project teams. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with at least 6 months of experience at Fred Meyer and 1 year in jewelry sales or a related field. Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to pass a drug test. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks. Willingness to complete Diamond Council of America (DCA) courses within the first year of employment. Compensation: $17.30 - $22 per hour
