Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAllweather Wood Company (AWW) is seeking an experienced Outside Account Representative! This position will cover the Olympia to Lynden and Alaska.The ideal candidate for this position will need to reside in the commutable area to the assigned territory or willing to relocate.This is an exempt position, the base salary for this position is $70,000 to $100,000. Your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic locations, skills, education and/or experience. Operating six wood preserving plants in California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, these state-of-the-art facilities enable year-round production of a variety of preservative systems, fire retardants and wood species, including Douglas-fir, Hem fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. With support from two full-service distribution centers in California, Allweather Wood partners with home improvement retailers, lumberyards, and building material dealers to bring a full range of preservative and fire-retardant lumber and plywood products to market.ResponsibilitiesThe Outside Account Representative is responsible for managing, establishing, and enhancing customer relationships while servicing and growing assigned regional accounts.Key Responsibilities:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required. Service existing accounts obtain orders by planning and organizing daily work schedules to call on existing or potential sales outletsLook for opportunities to grow the product mix at existing accountsEstablish new accounts within the territory through prospectingMonitor current marketplace information on pricing, products, market trends, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniquesMeasure customer’s pressure treated and redwood business growth by using sales numbers and products sku mix analysisAssist with stocking orders for yards by reviewing inventory levels and providing a suggested ordering listFacilitate product knowledge events and participate in customer entertainment, as neededResolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to managementComplete such additional projects as may be directed by the Sales Manager, or designeeParticipate in customer events as requiredCommunicate with management by submitting activity and results reports such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analysis as requested or requiredImplement marketing tools and projects through merchandising assistance, signage, promotions, products knowledge classes and customer events Qualifications Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred.Minimum of three years’ experience in sales/distribution, preferably in lumberWorking knowledge of the pressure treated lumber industry preferredMust maintain and carry a valid driver license and remain eligible and capable of operating vehicles in accordance with company policy guidelinesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power PointKnowledge of inventory software and order processing systemsAbility to read and interpret documentsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Position travels approximately 90% of the time and will include overnight traveling.
