Join Our Passionate Team and Prioritize Health At Humana, we are looking for a seasoned Senior Lead for our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. This key role emphasizes reliability, scalability, and performance in our essential systems. The perfect candidate will showcase strong technical leadership, mentor their peers, and work collaboratively across engineering and business units to promote reliability and implement best practices in DevOps. Key Responsibilities: Lead SRE initiatives focused on enhancing system reliability, automation, and operational excellence. Architect and execute solutions to improve availability, performance, and scalability for both cloud and on-premises services. Supervise incident management to ensure quick responses and thorough root cause analyses. Create and enhance monitoring, alerting, and reporting frameworks to provide actionable insights into service health. Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments while mitigating risks. Collaborate with software engineering and product teams to embed reliability requirements in their designs and development processes. Mentor engineers on SRE philosophies, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational discipline. Partner with stakeholders to establish service level objectives (SLOs), service level indicators (SLIs), and error budgets. Manage on-call rotations to ensure effective coverage and promote knowledge sharing. Document architectural choices, operational methods, and incident reviews. Enhance operational excellence for AI Systems, identifying AI/ML use cases, influencing best practices, and ensuring robust monitoring strategies. Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 7+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or software engineering, with a minimum of 2 years in a technical leadership capacity. At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Python, Pyspark, Azure Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, ORACLE, POSTGRES, File Transfer, REST API, and KAFKA. Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), container orchestration, and automation tools. Strong programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Go, Bash). Comprehensive understanding of distributed systems, networking, and security principles. Proven ability to lead large-scale incident responses and postmortem evaluations. Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities. Experience developing automation for CI/CD (ADO YAML pipelines) and testing validations. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in regulated sectors such as healthcare or finance. Certifications in cloud or DevOps technologies. Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana. Work-At-Home Requirements: To ensure effective remote work, associates must have internet service meeting the following criteria: A minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wired, wireless cable, or DSL connections are preferred. Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections may only be used with leadership approval. Associates working remotely in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive a bi-weekly reimbursement for internet costs. Humana will provide necessary equipment for home office needs to fulfill job requirements. Work from a dedicated location free from interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information. Travel: Occasional travel to Humana's offices may be necessary for training or meetings. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: The estimated starting base salary is between $106,900 and $147,000 per year, based on skills, experience, education, and location.
