As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will have the opportunity to: Lead technical initiatives in Machine Learning, steering efforts both within your team and in collaboration with others. Conduct hands-on analysis and modeling of extensive data sets to derive insights that enhance traffic monetization and merchandise sales, while prioritizing shopper satisfaction. Manage complex, large-scale Machine Learning projects from start to finish, navigating ambiguity and driving impactful outcomes. Develop and implement machine learning models, execute proof-of-concept trials, optimize processes, and collaborate with software engineers to deploy models in production. Oversee A/B testing, data collection, and perform rigorous statistical analyses. Create scalable, automated processes for extensive data analysis, model development, validation, and deployment. Investigate and develop innovative methodologies in machine learning. Play a key role in recruiting new Applied Scientists to the team and provide mentorship. Your Impact and Career Growth: In this role, you will influence customer shopping experiences and support suppliers in driving their retail business using native advertising. You will have the chance to establish a long-term science vision for our advertising business, aligning this vision with our customers' needs and translating it into actionable plans for research and applied science teams as well as engineering and product divisions. This role combines leadership in science, organizational skills, technical expertise, product focus, and a keen understanding of business. Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications. A PhD, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar. Experience with deep learning methods and machine learning techniques. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy, etc. Experience working with large-scale distributed systems like Hadoop or Spark. The compensation for this position varies by location, ranging from $150,400 to $260,000 per year. It is contingent on factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
