The Senior Manager, Global Payroll Operations will leverage extensive payroll expertise to enhance our International Payroll services across 25 countries. In this pivotal role, you will oversee global payroll processes for our organization, ensuring timely and accurate payroll delivery while fostering collaboration with various departments. Reporting to the head of the People Team Shared Services, you will manage an international team and play a crucial role in developing strategies that scale payroll operations and optimize systems. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the creation of a comprehensive global payroll strategy for an organization with over 3500 employees. Overseeing all global payroll processes to guarantee accuracy, timeliness, and resolution of payroll issues. Ensuring proper recording of payroll-related transactions within the accounting system. Building strong partnerships with country payroll providers and recommending future strategies. Creating and sharing detailed payroll reports that offer operational and financial insights, adding value through thorough analysis and workforce management reporting. Designing and implementing workflows and internal controls to ensure compliance with international laws and regulations. Collaborating closely with People Team Centers of Excellence (COEs) to accurately reflect benefits and withholdings in payroll records. Supporting enhancements to our payroll systems and preparing for scale in relation to mergers and acquisitions. Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and managing workers' compensation and withholding taxes. Leading, coaching, mentoring, and training your team to develop future leaders. Establishing a team of subject matter experts to assist with payroll inquiries and managing employee queries efficiently. Managing payroll-related financial closings and facilitating external audits. Monitoring payroll laws to ensure ongoing compliance in our systems. Ensuring quarterly and annual payroll filings are completed accurately and on time, collaborating with relevant teams. Taking the lead or assisting on special projects as necessary, such as compliance audits and system implementations. Engaging with cross-functional teams and leadership to ensure organizational objectives are met effectively. You are an ideal candidate if you possess: 8+ years of progressive experience managing multi-country payroll operations for a large exempt workforce, with at least 15 years in the payroll field. A minimum of 4 years in team leadership and management. Experience with outsourced payroll compliance vendors and administration. Familiarity with Oracle, CSX (Galaxy), and Tableau is an advantage. A track record of transforming payroll functions through automation and optimization. Membership in a recognized Payroll Professional body is preferred. The ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and sound judgment. Experience working independently and with geographically dispersed teams. Strong analytical skills and appreciation for both quantitative and qualitative analysis. The capacity to make impactful recommendations and influence outcomes. Excellent leadership and team-building capabilities with a focus on continuous development and performance. Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to present key data effectively to senior management. Exceptional relationship-building abilities with cross-functional stakeholders. Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail. Professionalism in managing confidential information. A demonstrated ability to define problems and determine optimal solutions aligned with business strategies. The capability to work well under pressure while prioritizing and managing multiple projects to completion. A Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, business, or a similar field, or equivalent experience. Bonus points for: A Master's degree related to accounting or finance.
