CADD Technician

RK&K is seeking CADD Technicians to join our dynamic highway engineering team. In this role, successful candidates will leverage Bentley CADD platforms to collaborate with our engineering team, developing roadway and plan contract drawings for a variety of transportation projects. Essential Functions Create precise and high-quality computer-generated CADD drawings using MicroStation and Open Roads Designer on ProjectWise, while adhering to engineering notes, sketches, and company/client CADD standards and procedures. Assist with project research, agency requirements, drawing preparation, organizing CADD files, and drafting design plans and details. Develop sheet layouts, drawing models, and designs that comply with engineering specifications. Support engineers and designers across various disciplines through tasks like proposal drawings, red marks, and sketches. Collaborate with engineers and designers to promptly and accurately update and correct drawings during the design process. Demonstrate the ability to read and understand construction drawings. Review existing record drawings to gather information necessary for completing design drawings and layouts. Required Skills and Experience A two-year technical degree or certification in engineering technology, drafting, CAD design, or a related field, OR two years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma can substitute for the degree. Experience with MicroStation CE and OpenRoads Designer. Designed proficiency in reading and interpreting 2D and/or isometric (3D) plans and drawings. Ability to read and interpret basic CADD standard documents and apply drafting/CADD standards to project tasks. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Basic understanding of geometry and trigonometry. Attention to detail and adherence to QA/QC procedures is crucial. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and virtual collaborative applications (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex). Preferred Skills and Experience Experience in the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction industries. In-depth experience with MicroStation CE. Knowledge of Open Roads Designer. A minimum of five years of CADD experience. Familiarity with local state DOT and municipality processes. Experience in Right-of-Way Plan Development and related processes.
