EPL Claims Consultant

We are excited to invite you to apply for the role of EPL Claims Consultant in our esteemed Global Specialty - Financial Lines Employment Practices Liability (EPL) Claims Group. As an EPL Claims Professional, you will take charge of managing a diverse caseload of EPL claims from inception to resolution. Given the complexity often involved in defending these cases, experience in litigated EPL claims is essential. Your key responsibilities will include: Conducting thorough investigations and analyzing information to evaluate claims. Determining coverage, liability, and damages accurately based on the unique facts of each claim. Effectively communicating findings and positions to insureds and related parties regarding coverage, liability, and damages. Setting and regularly monitoring reserve levels for expenses and indemnities. Presenting cases to senior management whenever expenses or indemnities exceed your established authority levels. Developing and implementing resolution strategies through negotiations for optimal outcomes. Proactively managing litigation processes and working closely with defense counsel. Understanding potential extra-contractual liabilities as required. Attending trials and mediations as necessary. Contributing to broader claim and enterprise goals through participation in audits, projects, training, and product development initiatives. Preparing in-depth reports and presentations for senior claims leadership regarding case developments, policy issues, and industry trends. Working collaboratively with business partners to assess and address claim trends. Responding to inquiries from agents and policyholders while delivering exceptional customer service. Providing vital training and marketing support to Underwriters. Engaging in industry events, delivering presentations on risk management and claims topics. Organizing and presenting webinars or in-house risk management seminars for key clients. Qualifications: A Juris Doctorate degree is strongly preferred; a college degree is required. A minimum of 7 years of experience handling litigated coverage and liability cases. You should be self-motivated, results-oriented, and disciplined in your work approach. Extensive knowledge and experience in managing all aspects of EPL claims is essential. You should demonstrate: Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Strong strategic thinking and execution abilities. Advanced negotiation skills and technical expertise in claim handling and insurance coverage issues. Excellent time management and organizational skills. A clear, concise communication style with the ability to influence and persuade. A collaborative team player attitude, capable of functioning with moderate supervision. This position offers a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT; San Antonio, TX; Lake Mary, FL; Phoenix, AZ; Alpharetta, GA; Naperville, IL) are expected to work on-site three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Those living further away will have remote work arrangements, with the flexibility to come in as needed for business requirements. Compensation: The salary range for this role is $122,400 - $183,600, based on analysis of similar roles in the external market. Actual compensation may vary depending on performance, skills, and competencies. This base pay is part of a comprehensive total compensation package, including potential bonuses and long-term incentives.
