Position Summary: The Universal Banking Specialist plays a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service and driving sales within our retail banking branches. This position offers three levels with increasing responsibilities, each focused on ensuring customer satisfaction and effective branch operations. Level 1 Responsibilities: Manage teller window operations, ensuring compliance with cash handling policies while following Branch Operation Guidelines. Efficiently open and close basic accounts, maintaining accuracy and adherence to banking regulations. Actively cross-sell products and services and refer customers to investment, mortgage, and business banking options. Strive to meet personal, team, and branch performance targets while participating in ongoing training and staying up to date with banking systems, including Digital Banking. Perform basic opening and closing procedures independently and assist with back-office responsibilities like balancing ATMs and processing deposits. Flexibility to float to different branches as required. Maintain knowledge of all bank policies and ensure compliance with banking laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering regulations. Qualifications for Level 1: 0-2 years of banking experience, including cash handling. High School Diploma or equivalent is required; customer service experience preferred. Proficient in MS Office applications; familiarity with banking software is a plus. A valid driver's license is needed for float positions. Level 2 Responsibilities: In addition to Level 1 tasks, Level 2 responsibilities include: Deliver exceptional customer service by processing transactions and addressing inquiries in person or over the phone. Act as a resource for staff by monitoring activities, approving transactions, and accepting customer service inquiries. Manage the vault by ordering and distributing cash while ensuring accuracy and security. Assist in training staff and monitoring branch performance metrics. Perform all branch opening and closing duties and manage assigned reports. Qualifications for Level 2: 2-4 years of banking experience, including cash handling and customer service. Experience leading a team is preferred. Strong understanding of banking regulations is required. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Proficiency in MS Office is necessary; banking software experience is preferred. A valid driver's license is required for float positions. Level 3 Responsibilities: Building on Levels 1 and 2, Level 3 responsibilities include: Supervising staff, providing coaching, and managing performance towards branch goals. Assisting the Branch Manager by overseeing operations, ensuring compliance, and resolving complex customer issues. Performing all branch operational activities and managing specific administrative duties, including audits and vendor relations. Representing the branch at meetings and community events. Qualifications for Level 3: 3-5 years of banking experience with a strong background in cash handling and customer service. Prior supervisory or mentoring experience is required. In-depth knowledge of banking laws and regulations is necessary. Notary Public certification is required, as is a valid NMLS number. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with banking software systems is expected. A valid driver's license is required. Physical Environment: Role requires lifting up to 25 pounds and engaging in a variety of movements within a retail bank setting.
