We have an amazing opportunity for a Robotics Systems Engineer for Mobile Servicing Systems to join Barrios, a partner company committed to NASA’s success. In this role, you will provide essential engineering support to the Mobile Servicing System (MSS) Subsystem Manager, focusing on the integration of space station hardware with the International Space Station (ISS) specifically targeting robotic systems. As an MSS Robotics Systems Engineer, you will: Support the robotics systems engineering team in the integration of space station hardware with the ISS. Engage in comprehensive engineering activities, including requirements definition, design, integration, testing, verification, and on-orbit operations for ISS utilization customers requiring robotics assistance. Define and establish robotics systems requirements for MSS end users. Provide technical guidance to users, ensuring correct application of MSS requirements in system designs. Conduct analytical assessments of user designs to identify needs for non-standard services, like robotics testing at Johnson Space Center. Guide users through verification processes, ensuring they meet evidential standards for successful verification closure. Review and approve verification data submissions for compliance with MSS requirements. Assist with programmatic forums, including ISS boards, panels, project reviews, and team meetings. Help identify and resolve technical and safety challenges related to robotics in ground processing, flight operations, and on-orbit transfers. Support the MSS Subsystem Manager in reviewing program documentation and evaluating implications for robotic systems. Provide engineering assistance in resolving robotics-related challenges throughout design, testing, and operational phases of payloads and visiting vehicles. Perform additional related tasks to support the Flight Systems Branch and broader engineering efforts.
