Job Description: Join our growing team as a 3rd Shift Installation Assembler! At Saab, we are expanding our advanced manufacturing operations and looking for motivated individuals to contribute to the assembly of the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force's T-7A Red Hawk trainer. This exciting opportunity will involve building cutting-edge aerospace structures while receiving comprehensive training at our onsite Aerospace Structures Training Academy. We anticipate the start date for these positions to be mid to late May 2026. Responsibilities include: Follow standardized procedures to ensure top-notch quality in aircraft fuselage assembly. Produce work that meets quality standards by implementing work instructions in a team-focused setting. Participate in ongoing continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, cost efficiency, and team morale. Expertly operate powered hand tools, including angular drilling. Conduct skilled structural assembly operations, including precise installation of aircraft systems and landing gear. Perform functional and pressure testing on installed systems. Achieve high precision when working with Class A curved surfaces and conduct touch-up painting. Sign off on completed work as per specifications, including oversight of the work of peers. Assist in training and knowledge transfer to new team members. Foster a positive and productive work environment aligned with our core values: Trust, Drive, Expertise, and Support. Complete other tasks as assigned and authorized. Compensation: Starting hourly rate of $23-$25, based on relevant aerostructure experience. Additionally, a $2.00 per hour shift premium is offered. The compensation range provided is a general guideline, and final offers will consider various factors like role responsibilities, location, and individual qualifications. Skills and Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant assembly or hand tool operation experience; aircraft structure assembly experience is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical degree or certification in aviation assembly, mechanics, or aircraft maintenance is a plus. Experience with ISO/AS9100 standards is beneficial. Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications in both written and digital formats. Expertise in selecting the correct tools and executing work methods to maintain quality and efficiency. Ability to adhere to standardized procedures for high repeatability in manufacturing settings. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Capability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and lifting. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
