Transportation Construction Inspection Supervisor

Join RK&K's Construction Inspection Team as a Transportation Construction Inspection Supervisor and play a vital role in ensuring the success of our projects. We are seeking candidates with previous experience as a TCIS or TCI-3, especially those with a background in PennDOT projects. Additionally, we welcome applicants with skills and expertise from related fields such as construction contracting, military service, or surveying. Essential Functions Supervise project elements as an owner's representative, ensuring adherence to contract specifications. Facilitate effective communication among field staff, contractors, the design team, and government agencies. Review project plans, contract documents, and ensure understanding of specifications and standards. Provide technical guidance to clients, maintaining high quality in final project outcomes. Monitor project schedules and offer recommendations for improvements. Participate actively in project meetings, including progress and pre-activity discussions. Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders. Required Skills and Experience To qualify for this position, candidates should meet one of the following criteria: A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI-3 or higher) with all three (3) certifications: PennDOT Concrete Technician, NECEPT Field Technician, and NICET Level II or higher in Highway Construction. One (1) year of experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI-3 or higher) along with NICET Level III Certification or higher in Highway Construction, and one of the following: PennDOT Concrete Technician or NECEPT Field Technician Certification. At least three (3) years of experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI-3 or higher) with two (2) certifications from the following: PennDOT Concrete Technician, NECEPT Field Technician, or NICET Level II or higher in Highway Construction. A minimum of five (5) years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience with all three (3) certifications: PennDOT Concrete Technician, NECEPT Field Technician, and NICET Level III or NICET Level IV in Highway Construction. At least six (6) years of supervision or management experience in transportation, highway, or bridge construction acceptable to the Department. One (1) year minimum of supervision or management experience in transportation, highway, or bridge construction while employed by PennDOT. Note: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or an active Professional Engineer’s License may substitute for four (4) years of experience. A PE License can replace all NICET Level Certifications. An Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management can substitute for two (2) years of experience.
