This position is an integral part of the Risk Control Services division, specifically within the Property Risk Engineering Group. You'll play a vital role in developing essential tools and resources, as well as engaging digital content for both internal customers and clients. Your expertise will cover key areas such as Fire Protection, Emerging Risks, Climate Disruption, Sustainable Energy, and other critical topics. This position allows for remote work, with the occasional requirement to visit the office based on business needs. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Risk Control Service Department to align with the Property Specialist Team and Property Technical Manager by integrating essential metrics and findings into established and new risk engineering guidelines and procedures. Oversee and prepare data analytics for detailed Property Engineering reports. Conduct Fire Protection Plan Reviews for new or retrofitted fire protection system installations ensuring compliance with applicable national standards and The Hartford Risk Engineering requirements. Establish and manage a Fire Protection System Impairment program desk. Enhance your expertise in Natural Catastrophe, Emerging Technology, and Business Continuity. Utilize data analytics to enhance Property-focused reporting through heat maps and develop data integration to help Underwriting differentiate risks. Create and implement a user-friendly web-based dashboard for data mining our extensive library of property engineering reports and risk mitigation recommendations. Develop digital content and integrate a Risk Scoring Matrix into our processes. Use the Property Claims database to create and publish regular reports on property claims for the benefit of Property Specialists and Account Engineers. Provide underwriting support in alignment with Commercial Insurance Managed Industries such as Manufacturing, Technology, Life Science, Real Estate, and Healthcare. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (particularly in Fire Protection, Chemical or Mechanical); Fire Science or related fields are strongly preferred. At least 10 years of relevant experience in property risk. Prior experience with Highly Protected Risk (HPR) properties is essential. Strong time management and development skills. Proficiency in MS Office 360 Apps (Power Automate, Pages, BI, and Co-Pilot) is required. Experience with Excel, VBA, and Tableau is a plus. Effective communication with meticulous attention to detail, excellent time management, and strong leadership abilities. Compensation: The annual base pay range for this role is $113,600 - $170,400, determined through market analysis of similar positions. Actual compensation may vary based on performance, proficiency, and demonstrated competencies. The base salary is just one part of The Hartford’s total compensation package, which may also include bonuses, long-term incentives, and recognition rewards.
