General Summary & Scope The Retail Operations Leader (ROL) plays a crucial role in fulfilling Ulta Beauty's mission and values while leading a high-performing team dedicated to driving sales growth in our stores. The ROL will head a team of Task Associates and the Merchandise Manager, overseeing all aspects of store operations, including inventory management, realignments, and compliance with company policies. This leader passionately pursues operational excellence and is adept at guiding their team through challenges. Key Responsibilities Performance Foster a culture of accountability to achieve retail and service goals, focusing on sales, guest loyalty, and expense control. Drive profitability through top-tier operational performance and strategic expense management. Utilize sales forecasts and budgets to optimize store scheduling and maximize productivity. Regularly analyze financial and operational metrics to enhance store performance. Stay well-informed about new industry trends and product offerings, sharing knowledge to enhance guest experiences. Execute makeup applications and product demonstrations to elevate customer engagement and drive sales. Maintain consistent attendance and uphold the attendance policy across the store team. People Recruit and retain a diverse team of top talent, ensuring all staffing needs are met. Build an engaged, collaborative team that exemplifies the Ulta Beauty brand. Create an inclusive atmosphere by fostering associate growth and engagement. Support comprehensive development for managers and associates, providing coaching and performance feedback to enhance skills. Encourage participation in ongoing training for continuous professional growth. Develop strong vendor partnerships to achieve operational goals mutually. Exemplify operational excellence through teamwork and best practice sharing. Lead the Guest Engagement initiative to enhance overall guest experiences and meet performance goals. Process Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies and store operational standards at all times. Adhere to company dress code and operational procedures. Oversee the execution of inventory processes, including counts and adjustments, to maintain accuracy. Utilize scheduling tools for effective attendance management and accurate reporting. Manage inventory and ordering processes within the allocated budget to ensure availability of products and supplies. Implement strict loss prevention measures to protect company assets. Continuously communicate insights on operational challenges and opportunities to field leadership. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience 2-3+ years in retail management or a similar fast-paced environment. Proven track record in financial management, driving sales, and controlling expenses. Experience in retail inventory management and enhancing customer service culture. Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on talent development and team dynamics. Skills Proficient in basic technology, including Point of Sale systems and Microsoft Office. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong collaboration abilities and interpersonal skills. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Capability to maintain composure under pressure and adapt to changing situations. Special Requirements Availability for a flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Attendance at corporate meetings and events as required. Working Conditions Active mobility throughout the store, including occasional lifting and reaching. Frequent use of computers and other office equipment during shifts.
