Dental Lab Technician Join National Dentex - a leading healthcare organization specializing in the dental industry! We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have 50 labs throughout the country. We are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this Dental Lab Technician (skilled in Crown & Bridge fabrication) opportunity at NDX Stern Empire in Houston, TX. The regular hours for this position are from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time. This is a full-time position featuring employee benefits including: health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; paid holiday, vacation, and sick time; 401K with company contribution; and tuition reimbursement! Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position: Fit all work to a solid poured or digitally printed model Choose correct porcelain Build to correct contour, blend and occlusion Stain and glaze with crown clean-up functions on posterior restorations Complete esthetic anterior PFZ, PFM and full contour cases Fire at the correct temperature and for the appropriate amount of time Steam clean required items Return items to proper pan Complete cases according to work ticket schedule Scan and initial cases as required Perform basic porcelain repairs according to Technical Team Policies All other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities that may be Required: Knowledge of tooth anatomy Ability to articulate according to Rx Knowledge of materials (i.e. stones, acrylic) Identify through Impressions margins Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English Minimum Education and Experience Required: High School diploma or GED preferred 2 years' experience with building porcelain crowns, and 2 or more years contouring monolithic crowns Proficient in executing all levels of dental lab cases without assistance Demonstrates ability to handle complex design cases independently Cross-trained in multiple tasks and functions across the department and operates self-sufficiently Hazardous Materials or Equipment that may be Used: Laboratory equipment that may include: grinders, lathes, ovens, burners, steamers and boiling water Physical Abilities that may be Required: Sitting for long periods of time, uncommon posture when fabricating and continuous maneuvering of hands and fingers while working with small tools Exhibit fine motor skills and/or perform repetitive motions Good hand-eye coordination Good manual dexterity Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time Repeated bending and kneeling Vision capabilities: Depth perception, attention to detail and/or color May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 25 pounds Qualifications Behaviors Required: Dedicated: Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity Team Player: Works well as a member of a group Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well Education Preferred: High School or Equivalent or better Experience Required: 2 years' experience with building porcelain crowns, and 2 or more years contouring monolithic crowns Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
