Key Responsibilities: Sample Preparation and Analysis: Prepare and process various cytological specimens for microscopic examination. Stain, mount, and fix cell samples using various techniques. Examine slides under the microscope for cell morphology and abnormalities. Screen and interpret Pap smears and other cytological specimens. Detection of Abnormalities: Identify and assess abnormalities and changes in cellular structure. Flag specimens for pathological review with detailed documentation. Collaboration with Pathologists: Discuss cell findings and potential diagnoses with pathologists. Assist in preparing specimens for further analysis. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of findings and abnormalities. Document results in laboratory information systems.
