The Opportunity We are on the lookout for a skilled actuarial professional to become part of our Property Loss Reserving and Reserving Development Team. In this role, you will apply your advanced knowledge of loss reserving techniques and claims analytics to interpret and explain loss trend drivers. This position is based in San Antonio, TX, and requires you to work in the office 4 days per week. We also offer relocation assistance for this role. What you’ll do: Utilize advanced actuarial knowledge to complete complex projects, including evaluating methodologies for pricing new products and developing reporting tools. Employ sophisticated actuarial, mathematical, or statistical techniques to enhance your work product. Lead special actuarial projects and mentor new team members in relevant methodologies. Translate intricate business problems into technical requirements and develop effective solutions. Identify compliance gaps and recommend improvements to mitigate risks. Represent the actuarial team in cross-functional initiatives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Create clear communications and presentations that convey data-driven insights to diverse audiences, including executive leadership. Ensure effective identification, measurement, monitoring, and control of risks associated with business activities per compliance policies. What you have: A bachelor’s degree or four years of equivalent actuarial, business, or analytical experience. A minimum of four years of actuarial or business analytical experience. Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) credential. Proven advanced skills in actuarial and statistical techniques for informed decision-making. Strong knowledge of data analysis tools and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, SAS, and BI tools. Ability to communicate complex analyses effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives. What sets you apart: Experience in loss reserve analysis and familiarity with loss reserving software such as ResQ or Arius. Military experience through service or as a spouse/domestic partner. Compensation range: The salary range for this role is $127,310 - $229,160. Visa Sponsorship: USAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
