Overview The Work Join our dedicated team as a Korean Legal Document Translator, where you will provide essential translation services for legal documents. In this flexible, as-needed role, you will ensure accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and confidentiality in every project while making a significant impact on our operations. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Translate various legal documents, including letters, reports, websites, brochures, and correspondence, while ensuring accuracy and maintaining the intended tone and meaning. Exhibit cultural sensitivity and produce clear translations that comply with legal standards. Edit and proofread translations for clarity, consistency, accuracy, and legal terminology adherence. Engage in a thorough quality review and proofreading process to uphold high standards. Adhere to client-specific style guides, glossaries, and translation preferences. Maintain confidentiality and security for all translated materials rigorously. Keep current with legal terminology, best practices, and industry trends. Take on other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications - Here's What You Need High School Diploma and 4+ years of relevant experience. Fluency in Korean. Possess one of the following certifications: Legal Translation online certifications CTP (Certified Translation Professional) ATA (American Translators Association) AOC (Administrative Office of the Court) Membership in NAJIT (National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators) Experience in: State Department Refugee Services Court or Legal settings Familiarity with legal terminology. Ability to pass a background check and additional checks as needed for projects. Minimum Skills Required: Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail. Exceptional written communication skills in English. Responsive and urgent in addressing client needs. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members. Self-starter mentality with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a foreign language, linguistics, or a related field. Experience in translating legal or professional publications. Reports to: Program Manager Working Conditions This on-call position requires availability as needed, with notifications sent within 48 hours of potential assignments. Translation work will primarily occur within Washington State. Physical and mental readiness for extended periods of work is necessary. Flexibility to work varying schedules, including holidays, may be required. Willingness to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
