Insurance Specialist Location: Spring, TX Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 a.m.4:30 p.m., occasional overtime; flexible for emergencies Type: Temp-to-Hire Pay: $20-23/hr Benefits: No formal benefits; 9 PTO days, 9 paid holidays, potential future insurance We are seeking a detail-oriented and personable Insurance Specialist to join a small, fast-paced ENT and facial plastic surgery practice. This role is critical for ensuring smooth insurance verification, pre-authorization, and patient billing processes. The ideal candidate is warm, professional, and able to interact with patients from across the U.S. and internationally. Key Responsibilities: Verify patient insurance coverage and calculate accurate out-of-pocket costs. Initiate and submit pre-authorizations, track denials, and coordinate peer-to-peer reviews when needed. Communicate with patients regarding insurance, self-pay quotes, and cosmetic procedure costs via phone and email. Work directly with insurance companies through portals such as Availity and EMR systems (Modernizing Medicine EMA). Maintain accurate documentation, upload insurance correspondence, and streamline approval processes. Collaborate with staff to improve workflows, adjust co-pays, and support cross-training needs. Provide courteous and professional service to all patients and insurance contacts. Qualifications: Preferably 35 years of experience in insurance verification or related medical billing roles; less or more experience considered. Familiarity with EMR systems strongly preferred; paper chart experience considered. Prior experience working with insurance companies, understanding CPT and diagnostic codes. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new processes, and be a positive, no-drama team player.
