A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Tele Job Details: • Work on K8 General Surgery unit - 8th floor, K-tower • Patient ratios: 1:6 on day shift, 1:7 on night shift • Must be able to manage 6-7 patients depending on shift • 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule required • Float to other med-surg areas as needed • Telemetry competency required • Urology and bowel experience essential (primary patient populations) • Work with equipment including telemetry monitors, PCA pumps, wound vacs, Baxter IV pumps, TPN, tube feeds, and urinary catheters • Use Cerner EMR system • Perform procedures including TPN administration, PCA management, wound vac care, tube feeds, PEG tubes, dobhoffs, NG tubes, colostomies and urostomies, drain management (biliary, JP, nephrostomy, urinary catheters, CBI), heparin drips, and IV antibiotics • Provide post-operative care for cholecystectomies, appendectomies, podiatry procedures, bowel resections, plastics, urology surgeries, nephrectomies, hysterectomies, mastectomies, oral/maxillary procedures, thyroidectomies, and hernia repairs • Required certifications: BLS and telemetry • Dress code: Navy blue pants, navy blue or white scrub top and jacket, white undershirt if needed • Must demonstrate positive, engaging personality with strong communication skills Facility: This flagship hospital is licensed for 815 beds and serves as the region's referral center with the only Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and Level III neonatal intensive care unit.
