Job Description

Director of Engineering - SOF GLSS 2 Program The Director of Engineering is responsible for the technical leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of all engineering activities within the program. This role ensures technical excellence, mission alignment, and compliance with all engineering standards and customer requirements. The Director will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams to support design, integration, testing, and sustainment of complex systems across all phases of the program lifecycle. Key responsibilities include providing strategic leadership and direction to engineering teams across multiple disciplines, overseeing system design, integration, verification/validation, and delivery, collaborating with program management, operations, and customer stakeholders to align engineering efforts with mission needs, developing and implementing engineering processes, tools, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and innovation, serving as the technical authority for the program, supporting proposal efforts, ensuring engineering rigor, compliance, and readiness for technical reviews, audits, and acceptance testing, and fostering a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and professional development within the engineering organization. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Engineering, 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles supporting defense or government programs, demonstrated success managing complex technical projects and multidisciplinary engineering teams, strong understanding of systems engineering principles, lifecycle management, and quality assurance standards, excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, and active Secret clearance required; Top Secret preferred.
