Associate Medical Director Family Medicine (Locums-to-Perm) Dallas, TX Facility Setting: Managed Care / Health Plan Administrative & Clinical Oversight Remote during locums' phase Hybrid model if converted to perm Start Date: As soon as Credentialed Schedule: Monday Friday 8am 5pm Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with expectation of transition to permanent role) On-Call: None Weekends: None About the Role Are you a dedicated Board-Certified Family Medicine physician with strong managed care experience and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care? This Associate Medical Director role offers the opportunity to support clinical operations, utilization management, and quality initiatives while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes across a health plan population. This role is fully remote during the locum phase and transitions to a hybrid schedule upon permanent placement. Key Responsibilities Review prior authorization & appeals requests Conduct peer-to-peer consultations Provide oversight for utilization, quality & disease management programs Assist in pharmacy program oversight & coordination of care Support fraud, waste & abuse program oversight Analyze provider performance & participate in committee review Assist in development of clinical policies & guidelines Participate in organizational planning, education & outreach initiatives Support continuous workflow & process improvement Required Skills & Qualifications Board Certification in Family Medicine (no exceptions) Texas medical license (or willingness to obtain) Experience in managed care & prior authorization Understanding of Texas Medicaid regulations Experience overseeing multidisciplinary care teams Strong leadership, communication & organizational abilities Ability to manage confidential information & remain calm under pressure Additional Notes This role involves clinical oversight activities, care utilization review, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams in a managed care environment.
