Senior Human Resources Generalist This is an onsite position in San Carlos, CA. Delta Star Inc. is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Human Resources Generalist to support key HR programs and serve as a trusted partner to designated business units. As a Senior Human Resources Generalist, you'll perform a wide range of professional HR duties, working closely with the HR management team to support employees and leaders across the business. You'll administer benefits, process weekly payroll, coordinate employee relations matters, manage HR transactions, maintain compliance, and support both Corporate and Business Unit HR projects. Your day will include processing payroll, responding to employee relations issues, leading HR administrative tasks, and supporting the complete employment lifecycle. You'll conduct onboarding and exit interviews, manage benefits and leaves of absence, assist with performance management, maintain HRIS records, and partner closely with the Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP). You'll also collaborate on events, training programs, and key HR initiatives that support engagement and employee retention. Specific duties include: Process weekly payroll and collaborate with the Corporate Payroll department. Serve as the senior HR representative for employee relations issues, partnering with the Senior HRBP to ensure timely resolution. Support the HR Generalist Talent with probationary union employee relations. Perform HR administrative tasks, including new hire paperwork, payroll actions, FMLA/LOA management, employment status changes, 401(k) administration, employee relations documentation, exit interviews, and terminations. Ensure all onboarding documentation is completed for non-union employees. Administer benefits enrollments, changes, terminations, and COBRA processes with third-party administrators. Conduct exit interviews for non-union employees and provide recommendations for improvement. Support Senior HRBP with performance management, retention initiatives, annual salary review processes, and open enrollment administration. Manage immigration sponsorship needs, track documentation expiration dates, and coordinate with immigration attorneys. Support Corporate and Business Unit HR projects and initiatives. Manage and monitor leaves of absence and coordinate medical documentation for restrictions or accommodations. Support distribution, monitoring, and completion of performance evaluations. Respond to employment verifications and audit requests. Maintain HRIS data entry and HR file documentation. Assist with scheduling internal and external training and employee development programs. Collaborate with the HR Generalist Talent to prepare, coordinate, and facilitate onboarding and new hire orientation; serve as backup presenter. Ensure all retention-related documents are filed and maintained properly. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. Stay current on HR trends, legal changes, and industry best practices. Partner with the Executive Assistant (DSW) to coordinate company events, including celebrations, picnics, and employee engagement activities. Serve as backup for other HR team members as needed. What we're looking for: We're seeking a seasoned HR professional with strong communication skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting a dynamic workforce. Position requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree). Minimum of 57 years of HR experience. Experience working in a union environment is a plus. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred. Skills & competencies: Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment regulations. Solid understanding of HR best practices and benefits administration. High degree of responsibility, professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Ability to manage time-sensitive tasks with composure and efficiency. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Strong multitasking and prioritization capabilities. Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing setting. Strong customer service approach with discretion and respect for others. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to read, speak, and understand Spanish is a plus.
