Job Title: Full Stack Developer (Java / Spring Boot / Kubernetes) Job Type: Contract Experience: 8+ Years Location: NY/Chicago Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native technologies to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building microservices architectures, working with event-driven systems, and deploying applications using containerized environments. The role requires strong backend development skills combined with DevOps exposure, monitoring tools, and scripting capabilities to support modern distributed systems. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based microservices using Spring Boot. Build and support full-stack applications with robust backend services. Develop and maintain event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka. Deploy, manage, and monitor containerized applications using Kubernetes. Work with distributed databases such as Apache Cassandra and CockroachDB. Implement logging, monitoring, and observability using Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana. Collaborate with DevOps teams to build and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. Develop automation scripts using Python or Shell scripting. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring high availability and performance. Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and system design. Required Skills Strong experience in Core Java and Spring Boot. Hands-on experience building microservices-based architectures. Experience with Apache Kafka for messaging and event streaming. Experience deploying applications using Kubernetes. Knowledge of distributed databases such as Apache Cassandra or CockroachDB. Experience with monitoring and logging tools including Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana. Experience with DevOps practices and containerized environments. Strong scripting skills in Python or Shell scripting. Good understanding of REST APIs and distributed systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with high-performance and scalable systems. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Nice to Have Experience with site reliability engineering (SRE) practices. Experience with infrastructure automation and monitoring frameworks. Exposure to large-scale distributed systems and high-traffic applications.
