Job Title: Procurement Supervisor Work Location: Bucks County, Pennsylvania Summary: Seeking a senior-level procurement professional to supervise purchasing operations for pharmaceutical materials and indirect supplies. This role involves direct sourcing and purchasing of APIs, excipients, lab equipment, and operational goods, while providing oversight to select procurement staff. The position offers strong growth potential for candidates interested in advancing to a manager-level role. Responsibilities: Oversee the procurement of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), excipients, drug product materials, laboratory equipment, and indirect supplies. Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing and supply chain continuity. Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supply agreements to optimize cost and delivery performance. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely replenishment to support uninterrupted operations. Ensure all procurement activities comply with cGMP and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate documentation for audits and inspections. Supervise and mentor assigned procurement staff, assisting with workload prioritization and issue resolution. Collaborate cross-functionally with quality, manufacturing, research and development, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with organizational needs. Support supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and act as backup to the Procurement Manager as needed. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in supply chain, operations management, business administration, or related field. 510 years of progressive procurement experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Direct experience purchasing APIs and excipients is required. Experience sourcing regulated materials within a cGMP environment. Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience with the ability to mentor and guide junior staff. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. ERP/MRP system experience is preferred. Background in generic pharmaceutical manufacturing is a plus. Potential and interest to grow into a manager-level position in the future.
