Accentuate Staffing is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join a growing accounting team in Greensboro, NC. This role will support payroll operations for approximately 1,000 employees across multiple projects and job sites. The payroll team currently consists of two members including the Payroll Manager, and this individual will serve as a key contributor to payroll processing, reporting, and data management. This position requires someone with a strong understanding of payroll processes in a high-volume environment, preferably within the construction industry, where union rules, job costing, and project-based payroll structures may apply. The company is open to candidates ranging from recent graduates with accounting/payroll education to experienced payroll professionals capable of serving as a right-hand partner to the Payroll Manager. Responsibilities: Payroll Processing Assist in processing payroll for approximately 1,000 employees across multiple job sites Review and validate employee time submitted through Rhumbix Enter, audit, and reconcile payroll data within Spectrum Viewpoint Ensure accurate payroll calculations including overtime, job cost allocations, and deductions Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies before payroll is finalized Time & Data Management Review and validate time submissions from field employees Perform data entry and payroll adjustments when necessary Audit automated time integrations to ensure accuracy Maintain employee payroll records and documentation Reporting & Analysis Utilize Excel to prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and data analysis Assist with payroll audits and internal reporting Support month-end and year-end payroll processes Help maintain accurate job cost allocations related to labor Compliance & Administration Ensure payroll is processed in compliance with federal, state, and company policies Assist with payroll tax reporting and documentation Support year-end payroll activities including W-2 preparation Work closely with HR and accounting to resolve payroll-related issues Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) 0–5+ years payroll experience depending on level Experience processing payroll in a high-volume environment preferred Experience with Spectrum Viewpoint, Rhumbix, or similar systems is a plus Strong Excel skills required (data analysis, spreadsheets, reconciliation) High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to manage confidential information
