Gas Design Project Manager (Ft. Myers or Sarasota) Peoples Gas is the fastest growing natural gas utility in the Southeast with career opportunities that fit your future. The Gas Design Project Manager (GDPM) supports PGS distribution system construction and maintenance projects. The GDPM creates, initiates, and/or processes work requests in PowerPlant and other Work Management systems (WMS), determines customer requirements, prepares piping system designs, cost estimates and feasibility analysis, interacts and coordinates with municipalities, FDOT, and others in maintaining and optimizing system integrity due to road improvements and system expansions, makes use of and updates the GIS, CRM-CIS, and Work Management-Workflow database systems, obtains necessary governmental permits and coordinates activities with all involved PGS departments to ensure the successful scheduling and completion of projects to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. A minimum of an Associate Degree in a related field from an accredited college/university is required. Related fields include disciplines such as Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Applied Sciences, or Business Administration. Driver License with a safe driving record. A minimum of eight (8) years of work experience in progressively more complex technical assignments, directly related to the Duties and Responsibilities of this position and the items described in the Knowledge, Skills and Ability section is required. Demonstrated strong project leadership, training and communication skills and the ability to lead projects of increasing complexity and diversity. Obtains, demonstrates and maintains adequate level of knowledge regarding natural gas quality issues and industry in general. Works independently on complex and varied assignments/projects utilizing considerable analytical skills, judgment and ingenuity. Possesses strong knowledge in a specialty and/or functional area and operates with substantial latitude. Responsible for the overall project management associated with the design and installation of natural gas facilities and other infrastructure, inclusive of the strategic planning and modeling Synergee of the natural gas transmission and distribution network. May be responsible for assigning and inspecting the work of the Gas Design Technician I and II (GDT I/II). Builds Strong Collaborative Relationships. Drives Operational Excellence for Customers. Takes Ownership and Acts with Integrity. Speaks up on Safety, Health, and the Environment. Develops People and Teams. Work hours consist of a minimum of 8-hours per day Monday through Friday. Some overtime is required to meet Customer deadlines and storm response. Working conditions are both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The level of stress is moderate to heavy depending upon the level of interaction with customers and governmental agencies. Physical demand requirements include working in field conditions, walking in rough terrain, lifting objects up to 50 lbs., and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment in an 8-hour day.
