Job Description

Marketing Research Analyst Assists with marketing research projects and analyzes results by performing the following duties: Analyzes and delivers results to provide actionable insights to the business; assumes responsibility of all project elements from inception to reporting, communication and presentation to key stakeholders Owns and ensures accuracy of data pulls, analysis and summary communication; knows where to get the data, how to pull the data from internal or external sources and the best way to report on the insights Thinks outside of the box to ensure insights are comprehensive and actionable by management tasked with making significant business decisions Meets with management + leadership to understand business needs, becoming proficient in the data associated with each project Develops and maintains working knowledge of the VIC database structure, Enterprise Data Warehouse (Snowflake), SQL, Power BI, Alteryx and other available analytical tools and new systems capabilities and uses these skills, as needed, for store and customer analysis, post-analysis of promotional programs or other analytical inquires. Knowledgeable on Loyalty Promotion Portal to effectively set up and execute programs and offers, addressing any operational issues as they occur Completes weekly and monthly reporting, including but not limited to Weekly e-VIC Threshold Offer Updates; Targeted Weekly Offer: In-Ad Coupon Measurements; All Markets Mailer Reporting; New Mover Reporting; FFM $5 Meal Analysis; Lost Loyal Weekly Target Files; and other ad hoc requests. Conducts weekly promotional and operational analyses, including RX promo participation, RX HH penetration reports, and HH Spend/Visit Reporting. Completes Ops/AP PLU Coupon Code and HH refund frequency reports for Operations and Asset Protection to use in identifying trends and concerning transactions Performs Store Mailer Analysis Develops and executes analysis for internal mailer programs Prepares reports, including charts and graphs, and provides analysis of the main takeaways from each, and presents recommendations for action plans to management in oral and written form Cross-trained in completing Period/Quarter VIC Reporting - Excessive Usage Reports, VIC %'s Report, RX VIC %'s Reports, Level/Decile Report, HH's Spend >$50, e-VIC by Decile & Tier Trending Supports and serves as back-up for team handling weekly reporting and trouble-shooting of Scopix/VEAM systems measuring in-store wait times and bagger presence. Gathers, analyzes, and compares customer data for use in research projects through mining of Data Warehouse customer spend history via Alteryx/Microsoft Access/SQL Other duties as may be needed or required. Continuously look for ways to improve your performance and impact. What You Bring Bachelor's degree (B. S. or B.A.) in marketing, business or other related degree from four-year college or university; or two or more years of professional experience in marketing research, business or data analytics or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint Access and/or General Ledger accounting software, Oracle database software, Intellex and/or i3 DVR software Physical Demands Physical demands include, but are not limited to, high aptitude for standing and walking endurance, sitting while driving to various stores, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling climbing ladders of various types, bending, squatting, and kneeling, and working in different temperatures inside and outside the store.
