Test & Burn-in Department Supervisor The Test & Burn-in Department Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all testing operations for products, including management of the electronics testing department's Burn-in Room. This role ensures that all electronic assemblies, sub-systems, and finished products meet stringent quality and performance standards before shipment. The supervisor will lead a team of test technicians, manage workflow, maintain calibration compliance, and drive continuous improvement in testing processes. Responsibilities Supervise and mentor test technicians, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback. Schedule and prioritize daily test activities to meet production and engineering deadlines. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability within the department. Ensure accurate execution of test procedures for electronic & lighting assemblies, lightbars, sirens, and traffic control systems. Oversee all functional and performance testing of electronic assemblies, including Burn-in Room operations for extended reliability and stress testing. Review and approve test documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and Failure Analysis Reports (FARs). Monitor and troubleshoot test failures, coordinating with engineering for root cause analysis. Support engineering in their development and maintenance of test fixtures and burn-in racks. Lead Return Material Authorization (RMA) product analysis, reporting, and resolution in conjunction with customer service, service (warranty) department, and engineering. Maintain adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) standards and company policies. Oversee calibration of test equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and audit readiness. Track and document calibration certificates, logs, and test results for traceability. Identify inefficiencies in test operations and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve throughput and reduce defects. Support Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Requests (ECRs) impacting test processes. Maintain accurate records of test results, equipment calibration, and departmental performance metrics. Prepare reports for management on testing progress, quality issues, and resource needs. Essential Skills Strong understanding of electrical component testing and procedures. Ability to solder through hole and surface mount. Strong leadership ability for a small team. Ability to communicate, coach, lead, and develop individuals at all levels. Troubleshooting skills. Understanding of electronic circuits, LED systems, and test methodologies. Familiarity with calibration standards and test equipment such as DMM, signal generator, AC/DC power supplies, and oscilloscope. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree in Electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience). 35 years in electronics testing or manufacturing environment. 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience in emergency vehicle lighting or signaling products (preferred). Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality standards (preferred). Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to develop and train others. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in an air-conditioned manufacturing facility with calm and clean surroundings, where we manufacture and assemble flashing LED lights for first responder vehicles, construction vehicles, farming equipment, and more. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gilbert, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.84 - $35.10/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
