The higher end of the range, $23.75/hour, is reserved for candidates with exceptional experience or qualifications. What You'll Do Observe load hookup and determine the safety of the load. Manipulate or depress crane control buttons, to regulate the speed and direction of crane and hoist movement. Use hoisting attachments such as hook, sling, or bucket as load requires. Cleans and maintains a crane and hoisting mechanism. Inspect crane for defective parts and notify supervisors of defects or malfunctions. Qualifications High school diploma or GED Warehouse or material-handling experience preferred Able to read, write, and communicate clearly Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, percentages) Able to follow instructions and solve routine problems Education/Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Material handler I competency or 4 years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Quality of Work Produces an appropriate quantity and quality of work; able to determine project urgency in a meaningful and practical way. Communication Writes and speaks effectively, demonstrates openness and honesty; uses consideration and tact when offering opinions. Problem-Solving Anticipates and recognized problems; communicates to supervisor in a timely manner. Attention to Detail Follows detailed procedures and ensures accuracy in documentation and data; carefully monitors gauges and processes; concentrates on routine work details; organizes and maintains documents and records. Math Ability Basic math including fractions, decimals, and chart reading. Computer Skills Able to utilize basic computer programs including email, and production software. Machine Skills & Knowledge Competent with operations of cleaning, packaging, and skid-building equipment. Competent with forklift operations. Competent with overhead crane operations and below-hook devices. Competent with rail unloading equipment.
