Job #: 108007 Title: Parts Cleaner / Grinder Location: Rockford, IL Salary Range: $19.00 Position: GENERAL LABOR Description: We are seeking a dependable Parts Cleaner / Grinder to join a local steel manufacturing team on 2nd shift. This role involves cleaning and finishing steel parts, removing slag from flame-cut components, and assisting with minor weld repairs as needed. Previous experience in the steel industry is helpful. Responsibilities: Grind flame-cut slag from steel parts using electric hand grinders Perform minor weld repairs as needed Measure parts using tape measures and micrometers Operate overhead cranes to move materials and parts Operate forklifts to transport materials throughout the facility Inspect parts to ensure quality and proper finishing Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Requirements: Experience using electric hand grinding tools Ability to use tape measures and micrometers Forklift experience required Overhead crane experience preferred Welding experience helpful Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Benefits: Many of our positions at Dickey Staffing are temp-to-hire.
