Lead Smart Water Solutions - Join Genesis Sprinklers & Water Management as a Lead Irrigation Technician!Position Title: Lead Irrigation Technician Company Name: Genesis Sprinklers & Water Management, LLC Pay Range: $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience Employment Type: Full-Time Industry: Irrigation, Water Management & Sustainable Landscape Solutions Location: Sarasota-Bradenton, FL (Field-Based) Job Overview Genesis Sprinklers & Water Management is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Irrigation Technician to join our growing field operations team. This full-time role is ideal for an experienced irrigation professional who thrives in hands-on troubleshooting, enjoys leading small crews, and takes pride in delivering high-quality, water-efficient solutions. As a Lead Irrigation Technician, you'll diagnose, repair, and optimize residential and commercial irrigation systems throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties. You'll work independently on service calls and lead 2-3 technicians when assigned, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Florida regulations and industry best practices. Learn more at: Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial irrigation systems, including valves, heads, wiring, lateral lines, and mainlines Program, adjust, and troubleshoot irrigation controllers (Hunter, Rain Bird, Irritrol, and smart WiFi-enabled systems) Perform system startups, seasonal adjustments, and winterizations as required Lead and manage a crew of 2-3 technicians when assigned; independently manage service calls when working solo Conduct backflow preventer testing, maintenance, and repairs Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and time on each job using digital reporting tools Identify opportunities for system upgrades, water conservation improvements, and additional services Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, and contractors on-site Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in safe and working condition Ensure all work meets local codes, water restrictions, and industry best practices Required Experience & Qualifications 3-5 years of hands-on irrigation repair, installation, and troubleshooting experience Strong understanding of irrigation hydraulics, water management principles, and electrical troubleshooting (24V and 110V systems) Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans, blueprints, and as-built drawings Proven ability to lead a small crew and manage daily workflow in the field Experience with PVC, poly pipe, and fittings including cutting, gluing, and repair techniques Familiarity with wire tracking and fault locating equipment (e.g., 521 locator, multimeter) Ability to work outdoors in Florida heat and humidity Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, dig trenches, stand for extended periods, and perform field labor Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor Reliable personal transportation to and from the shop/yard Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record Licensing Requirements Valid Florida Driver's License (required) Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification (preferred; willingness to obtain within 90 days if not currently held) Florida Irrigation Contractor License or relevant county license (preferred but not required) Benefits Competitive pay: $25-$30 per hour based on experience and certifications Consistent, year-round work in the Sarasota-Bradenton market Company vehicle, tools, and equipment provided Health insurance options Paid Time Off (vacation and holidays) 401(k) retirement plan with company match (after eligibility period) Weekly pay cycle Paid training and certification assistance Career growth opportunities as we scale operations Company events and performance-based incentives Schedule Full-Time Monday-Friday Occasional Saturday work as seasonal demand requires Typical workday begins from the Bradenton-area shop and travels to local job sites Work Location Field-based role serving Sarasota and Manatee Counties Regular travel to residential and commercial client sites throughout the Sarasota-Bradenton region Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
