Job Title: Manager of Assets and Logistics Full-time/Part-time: Full-time Regular/Temporary: Regular Reports To: Sr. Vice President of Operations Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 annually Benefits: Health, dental, vision insurance (company pays 90% of employee coverage), company-paid life and long-term disability insurance and 403(b) match up to 3%; generous PTO and holiday schedule Purpose: The Asset and Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing KIB's vehicles, tools, equipment, and supply inventory, ensuring they are well-maintained, efficiently managed, and available to support our programs, cleanups, plantings, and community events. This role coordinates the logistics needed to deliver successful projects across Marion County, working closely with program staff, volunteers, and partners. The position requires a detail-oriented leader who can balance planning with hands-on work in the field. Because KIB's work takes place across multiple neighborhoods and project sites, the Asset and Logistics Manager must maintain a flexible work schedule to support program operations and logistical needs. This role requires the ability to travel to and support multiple project locations as needed. Early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends may be required during peak program seasons. The Asset and Logistics Manager must be available, when requested, to respond to logistical needs at project sites to ensure staff and volunteers have the tools, equipment, and materials necessary for successful events and program delivery. Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities: Asset Management Oversee KIB's fleet, equipment, and supply inventory, ensuring all assets are safe, functional, and properly tracked Develop and maintain systems for equipment checkout, return, repair, and replacement Coordinate routine maintenance schedules for vehicles, tools, and machinery Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational regulations Logistics and Operations Plan and coordinate the distribution of supplies and equipment for tree plantings, cleanups, youth programs, and other KIB projects Support staff and volunteers by anticipating logistics needs and ensuring timely delivery of materials Manage vendor relationships, including rentals, repairs, and supply purchases Identify and implement efficiencies to reduce costs and streamline logistics processes Collaboration and Team Support Work closely with program staff to forecast upcoming asset and logistics needs Provide training on safe and effective use of tools and equipment Supervise program staff, seasonal crew, or volunteers as needed Foster teamwork and accountability by modeling KIB's core values in daily operations Complete any additional duties as assigned in support of the mission of KIB Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of fleet and equipment management, inventory systems, and logistics coordination Familiarity with safety standards and environmental regulations related to vehicles, tools, and materials Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with inventory or asset-tracking software preferred Effective written and verbal communication skills to engage with staff, vendors, and community partners Ability to lead and motivate staff, seasonal crews, and volunteers Skilled in problem-solving, troubleshooting, and resourcefulness in both office and field settings Ability to adapt to changing conditions, including working outdoors in varied weather Commitment to KIB's mission, values, and community-focused approach Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Environmental Studies, or related field; or equivalent work experience 3-5 years of professional experience in logistics, operations, or asset management. Experience managing vehicles, equipment, or supply chains preferred Requirements: Ability to accommodate both in-office and field work Physically able to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) consistently throughout a regular workday Comfort walking, standing for long hours, and withstanding working outdoors in all seasons Ability to accommodate seasonal nature of workload, including working weekends and/or evenings as needed Valid driver's license with six points or fewer Ability to or willingness to learn how to: Pull a 20-25' long trailer behind a full-sized pickup truck Operate large machinery, including but not limited to skid steers, excavators, and forklifts Use a variety of small power landscape tools: chainsaw, brush cutter, etc. Exhibit KIB's Cultural Values of Teamwork, Accountability, Excellence, Welcoming All Voices, Balance, and Joy
