The CSFA may also be responsible for post-operative care, such as cleaning and dressing the wound, as well as monitoring the patient's vital signs. Job Requirements : In order to become a CSFA, individuals must complete an accredited surgical first assistant program and pass a certification exam. 2 years of experience are required in the field.
