The goal of this position is to effectively assume teaching responsibilities for special education students placed on homebound instruction due to a medical condition and certification provided by a physician. The instruction takes place in the student's home only on school days and/or during school hours during the time period indicated by the physician on the medical certification. The ideal candidate will: Effectively implement the lesson plans and address IEP goals provided by a teacher and/or create lesson plans appropriate to provide the student exposure to the same curriculum as their peers Translate lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best use the available time for instruction and meet the student's educational needs Grade IEP goals as appropriate Attend IEP meetings as needed Maintain established standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere Maintain professional competence and confidentiality Report to the teacher/home school building through written communication about the activities completed during the homebound instruction Implement various duties as assigned Requirements include: Illinois Professional Educator License Special Education - LBS1 Endorsement Must provide own transportation Maintains positive attitude, professionalism, demonstrates flexibility and displays excellent interpersonal communication skills
