Fiscal Specialist Needed Location: Champlain Valley School District The Champlain Valley School District (CVSD) seeks a full-time, detail-oriented Fiscal Specialist to join our Finance team. Our team is looking for a skilled, collaborative individual to support the Director, Assistant Director, and Payroll Manager in completing essential finance and payroll functions. We are seeking a positive team member who can maintain a professional and respectful work atmosphere while providing timely service to our central office clients and customers. Candidates will work as part of a dedicated team to: Execute Financial Tasks: Complete assigned requisitions, purchase orders, payment of invoices, generate external invoices, and monitor accounts payable. Support Payroll Operations: Use district software to perform payroll tasks including: scrubbing data for accuracy, providing backup coverage for payroll, and aiding in fiscal services payroll work. Collaborate with Schools: Partner with local school finance teams related to payroll and fiscal services. Manage Specialized Functions: Act as the primary point of contact for assigned department's requisitions and payroll. Ensure Compliance: Maintain an understanding of relevant CVSD policies, HR procedures, and legislation to ensure organizational compliance. Ideal candidates will have an Associate's degree in Accounting (or a related discipline) and 3 to 4 years of recent relevant experience in payroll or bookkeeping. We are looking for an individual with strong organizational skills, high accuracy, and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems, communicate courteously with a variety of stakeholders, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment. This is a non-exempt position that may require limited travel to provide district-level customer service.
