Salary: $17.00 Hourly Location : Wilmington - Downtown Campus, NC Job Type: Part Time Staff Job Number: 22-00080 Division: Wilson Center Opening Date: 01/15/2026 Closing Date: Continuous Position Description DEFINITION: To assist in design, social media, marketing, writing and public relations efforts for the Wilson Center. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:Receives general direction and supervision by the Wilson Center Project Manager. Provides general guidance to marketing interns. Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions) ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS: Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Ensure that all marketing and public relations procedures and projects are in compliance with the CFCC Community Relations Department. Monitor the appropriate use of the College's and Center's names, marketing brands, trademarks, etc., and ensuring compliance with the College's associated policies. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with audiences online and in-person. Coordinate content creation efforts by capturing photos/videos at shows/events and beyond. Assist in planning and executing show-specific and general community engagement events. Assist in monitoring and maintaining the Center Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and all other social media accounts. Utilize prior knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite to create all design projects, including but not limited to: lobby banners, website graphics, supplemental branding materials, lobby videos, social media graphics, posters, playbills, logos etc. Oversees design and distribution for all print pieces, including posters, mailings, rack cards and playbills. Support the monitoring and revision of all Wilson Center marketing copy across all platforms to ensure a consistent brand voice. Create comprehensive show-specific marketing and advertising strategies utilizing paid and organic efforts with proposals for community activations. Monitor Wilson Center Google and Meta analytics. Be vigilant and proactive in anticipating and meeting client and guest needs during an event. Maintain Center archives. Maintain a clean driving record in order to operate all vehicles. Other Important Functions:Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of:Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Creative Cloud) Meta and Google Analytics Current trends, research, and development in marketing, advertising and design. North Carolina traffic laws and driving rules. Ability to:Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations Lift up to 50 or more pounds. Embody and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, even in stressful and/or demanding situations. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including artists, agents, rental clients, donors, high profile clients and guests, students, college faculty and staff, and the general public. Assist in training and supervision. Work independently with sound judgement, even in absence of direct supervisor. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Create and maintain accurate records and reports. Perform mathematical computations. Work weekends and/or evening hours as required. Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for: making observations communicating with others reading and writing examining incoming equipment, materials and supplies Handling varied tasks simultaneously Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which include the following: Walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time Operating assigned equipment Lifting, stooping, climbing, bending and carrying materials, or lifting up to 50 pounds Maintain mental capacity, which allows the capability of: Making sound decisions Working in a fast-paced environment Responding to questions Demonstrating intellectual capabilities EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Minimum Education/Training:High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum Experience:Must be a minimum of 18 years of age 1-2 years of demonstrated successful experience in a marketing, communications or graphic design role, preferably within higher education, performing arts, or another similar field. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Experience collaborating with team members with other areas of expertise to produce high-visibility and high-quality design projects, from conception to delivery. Clean driving record. No traffic moving violations Preferred Education/Training, Experience, Skills: Graphic design knowledge and experience in either an administrative or creative role. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere Video production and/or editing experience Social Media and/or advertising experience Experience with Monday Project Management Software, Google Suite, file management Arts administration/arts presenting operations experience. Supplemental Information Special Instructions to Applicants: Work hours will vary depending on events schedule, with a maximum of 125 hours per month.
