Set-Up Technician - Injection MoldingLocation: Sussex, WI Job Type: Direct Hire Shift: 11 PM - 7:30 AM (M-F) Pay Rate: $25-$33/hour + $1.50/hour Perfect Attendance Bonus Position Summary We are hiring a Set-Up Technician to support plastic injection molding operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for mold changeovers, machine set-ups, and troubleshooting to ensure consistent quality, safety, and production flow. Key Responsibilities Remove molds from completed jobs and set up next scheduled jobs Install knockout pins (uniform length), mount and align molds, and connect water and air lines Ensure all safety devices and guards are properly installed and functional Set and adjust machine parameters including clamp pressure, injection speed/pressure, temperatures, and cycle timers Change machine screws as needed to achieve proper color and material flow Cycle in machines, inspect first-shot samples, and correct defects such as flash, shorts, sinks, splay, and insert issues Present first good shots to Cell Lead for approval Troubleshoot molding issues using established troubleshooting guidelines Verify process windows, nozzle leak status, and cycle times twice per shift against BOM requirements Clean machines, maintain floors, and ensure a safe, organized 5S work environment Remove molds at job completion, apply rust preventative, drain water lines, and properly store molds with repair tags when needed Train operators on job-specific procedures and safety requirements Complete required documentation and checklists accurately Qualifications Minimum 3 years of set-up experience in plastic injection molding Strong knowledge of machine setup, processing, and materials Experience troubleshooting common molding defects Basic computer skills; ERP/IQMS experience preferred Good documentation and communication skills Mechanical aptitude and critical-thinking ability High school diploma or GED preferred Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to shoulder height and work on your feet What We Offer Competitive hourly pay with perfect attendance bonus Direct hire, long-term opportunity Stable manufacturing environment Strong safety and 5S culture Opportunities to grow into advanced processing roles If interested please text/call Caleb (313) 548-1689 and/or send your resume to
