As a Branded Environments, Signage and Wayfinding Designer II at Perkins&Will, you will:Develop design concepts for signage, wayfinding systems, and environmental graphic elements. Produce print-ready artwork and detailed design assets for fabrication. Conduct project research to support strategy, programming, and design development. Collaborate closely with senior designers and architects to integrate graphics within architectural environments. Provide design and technical guidance to junior team members. Participate in client meetings, presentations, and coordination discussions. Support project planning, documentation, and delivery for small to mid-sized projects. Assemble full signage package for all design stages, Concept, SD, DD, CD Prepare bid set with full written specifications Review shop drawings from manufacturers Understand common materials and processes – mechanical and structural techniques Assist with signage programming, message schedules, and digital organization tools (e.g., SignAgent). Coordinate with fabricators and consultants to ensure accurate implementation. Manage priorities across multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality and deadlines. Support all signage projects Possess a strong understanding of ADA Codes, City/Municipal Codes, Wayfinding Principles, Progressive Disclosure High-level Summary of Critical, Baseline Technical Skills and Certifications3–5 years of experience in environmental graphics, signage, or wayfinding design. Strong understanding of wayfinding principles and fabrication methods. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop; familiarity with 3D modeling tools and CadTools. Experience with SignAgent or similar project organization platforms. Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across disciplines and interface with clients. Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within team environments. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and project workflows simultaneously. Willingness to travel as required. Licensure/Certifications/Education A degree in Graphic Design, Environmental Design, Product Design, or related field is required LEED GA within 6 months of hire Professional Accreditation within one area of Living Design: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, CPHC/CPHE Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer or RELi AP Qualified and interested candidates should submit a resume and work samples.
