Robotics PLC Lab Technician / Seibi Paint TechnicianLocation: Georgetown, KY Duration: 12-month contract (strong potential for extension) Overtime: Up to ~15% (occasional Saturdays or short daily extensions) Travel: None Role OverviewK&K is looking for a Paint Lab Technician to support paint testing, robotic programming, and equipment trials in a lab environment. This role supports new model and equipment projects and is hands-on with robotic paint application systems. Key Responsibilities Conduct testing and evaluation of new paint equipment and materials Mix and prepare paint for testing and trials Program and adjust paint robots (Kawasaki robots) Spray test panels and parts per defined test matrices Take color readings and use paint measurement instruments Adjust paint properties and process parameters to meet quality targets Support equipment operation, basic maintenance, and cleaning Run trials, analyze results, and recommend improvements Required / Preferred Experience 2+ years of technical experience (open to recent grads with relevant experience) Technical degree (2-year) or equivalent hands-on experience Experience with robotic programming or automation Familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Toyopuc systems Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Nice to Have (Bonus) Experience in automated robotic paint shop environments Paint manufacturing, formulation, or lab testing experience 3D programming experience (future need) Bachelor's degree in a related field Relevant technical or automation certifications Ideal Candidate Traits Strong multitasker who manages time well Curious, creative problem solver Comfortable working independently in a lab setting Proactive mindset with continuous improvement focus Clear verbal and written communication skills
