Job DutiesSteel Detailer. Woodell Detailing, Inc. seeks a Steel Detailer in Blaine, Minnesota (Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, MN-WI area). Responsible for having knowledge of steel detailing requirements and procedures, understanding of building codes, AISC codes, OSHA requirements, and IBC standards, and understanding of standard shop and erection practices. Understand AWS welding procedures, read and interpret structural and architectural drawings and specifications, provide fabrication and erection drawings, and incorporate approval changes. Write and interpret RFIs, have good organizational skills, communication skills, be self-motivated, have a willingness and ability to work on a team, and have proficiency with Bluebeam software. Other duties may be completed as assigned. Must have proof of legal authority to work in the U.S. Requirements – Education: No education required. – Experience: 5 years of experience as a Steel Detail Design Drafter, Steel Drafting Technician, Erector Draftsman, Structural Design Engineer, or a closely related position in the construction industry, which includes at least 2 years of experience in steel detailing or at least 2 years of experience utilizing finite element analysis (FEA) and building information modeling (BIM) software to develop detailed design drawing and schematics for construction projects. Required Tekla Certificates must either include Tekla Steel Fundamentals Modeling Assignment (US Environment), Steel Fundamentals Certification, or Tekla Structures Advances – General; OR 6 months’ experience in a Structural Design Engineer position involving LIRA-SAPR or Tekla Partners Program Software.
