DescriptionBecome part of an inclusive organization with over 40,000 teammates, whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of the unique communities we serve.Job SummaryProvide Clinical Medical Physicist services for the Radiation Oncology Department including Quality Management Program; Radiation Safety; Service liaison for radiation oncology equipment; Ongoing Clinical management; Specification/Planning for new equipment and procedures.Responsibilities And Scope Implement and oversee a comprehensive Quality Management Program for all equipment, software and processes related to the use of Radiation Therapy in the Cancer Center. Implement and oversee the Radiation Safety Program for patients, staff and visitors in the Cancer Center in compliance with all applicable regulations of the NC Division of Radiation Protection; Serve as department Radiation Safety Officer; and maintain Licenses and Regulations for radiation producing equipment and sources within the department. Provide clinical management support for patients, including patient chart checks and calculation verifications. Provide consultation as needed for Physicians. Oversee Treatment Planning procedures and parameters utilized for calculations. Serve as resource for staff, patients and visitors to address any concerns regarding the clinical use of radiation. Serve as liaison with service engineers for issues related to radiation equipment in the department. Ensure all equipment is safe for clinical use after service; repair; upgrades, etc. Serve as lead for Radiation Oncology equipment projects including vendor selection; equipment procurement; capital budgeting and forecasting; and project management Serve as ongoing lead for APEX Accreditation and implementation of the RO-ILS patient safety reporting system (Radiation Oncology-Incident Learning System). Participate in Cancer Center Leadership Team; Cancer Committee; Tumor Conferences and Department QI Committee.
