Job Description Summary: Under direct supervision, performs a variety of golf course maintenance tasks as assigned by golf course staff and performs related duties as assigned, with the goal of making the Flatirons Golf Course operate smoothly and being aesthetically pleasing. Job Description: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Anticipates and performs needed maintenance and reports problems to the supervisor. Uses and operates hand and power tools. Repairs and maintains related equipment. Performs a wide range of physical and manual tasks in an outdoor environment under a variety of weather conditions. Cleans and maintains hardscapes. Repairs and removes vandalism. Performs minor repairs of buildings and structures. Performs snow removal as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools. Ability to evaluate conditions in assigned area and make judgments related to safety. Ability to provide excellent customer service. Must be 16 years of age or older to drive golf carts. Have and maintain acceptable background information, including criminal conviction history. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ability to work alone under general supervision. Ability to operate riding mowers. Ability to drive city vehicle. Previous golf course maintenance experience. Skills in effective interpersonal communication, including conflict resolution skills. Valid driver's license and ability to maintain acceptable motor vehicle record. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE No education or experience is required for this role. SUPERVISION Supervision Received: Golf Course Superintendent Supervision Exercised: None WORKING CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Physical and Mental Effort: Ability to perform a wide range of strenuous physical and manual tasks in an outdoor environment under a variety of weather conditions. Physical ability to stand, walk, and kneel. Able to use a variety of long handled, manual, and power tools; and to operate equipment while working in and around moving traffic. Upper body strength to lift up to 40 pounds on a daily basis and over 75 pounds on an occasional basis. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permits the employee to communicate effectively in person. Work Environment: Frequently works outside with exposure to a variety of weather conditions. Works in a setting subject to continuous interruptions and background noises. Ability to stand, crawl, crouch, climb, stoop and kneel in on a regular basis. May need to work hours that are flexible and include weekends. Machines and Equipment Used: Tri-plex mowers, sand trap rake, rough mower, fairway mower, skid steer, front end loader, string trimmer, edger, hand and backpack blowers, maintenance and fleet carts, pull saws, hand shovels, level lawn rakes, a variety of hand tools and power tools.
