All facilities honor active compact licenses. Travelers with 2 years of experience are preferred, as first-time travelers are not accepted in this unit. On-call is required, typically consisting of 6 evenings and one weekend every 6 weeks. Weekend shifts typically require standby for one weekend every 6 weeks, with a required response time of 30 minutes when called back. The documentation system utilized is EPIC, and medication management is through Pyxis. The Cath Lab features 3 labs and one hybrid OR, with procedures including interventional and diagnostic cardiac cath lab operations. Professional responsibilities include accurate monitoring, equipment setup, EKG lead placement, access site preparation, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias. Maintaining a sterile field, functioning as room circulator, and utilizing vascular closure systems are also required tasks. Experience with isolation precautions is necessary, while experience with rapid response teams is preferred. The unit supports various interdisciplinary services, and a daily patient census of approximately 17 is expected.
