Family friendly, membership, summer camp Aquatics and Fitness Center 333 Cheesequake Rd Parlin, NJ 08859 Position Available: Lifeguard - Hourly as Needed Twelve (12) Month Position School / Program: The Educational Services Commission of New Jersey: Aquatics and Fitness Center Start Date: Immediately - Pending Criminal History Clearance REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 15 years of age Current Lifeguarding, CPR/AED Pro, and First Aid certification Experience lifeguarding/teaching swim lessons Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma preferred. Less than High School diploma must have experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Knowledge of pool equipment and maintenance. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques. Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions. Skilled in swimming and lifesaving techniques. Current lifeguard training, first aid and CPR certifications. Other qualifications that the Board deems appropriate. JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBLITIES: Oversees and ensures the safety of the patrons in the swimming area. Monitors the activities at the pool to prevent accidents. Rescues swimmers in danger. Administers first aid. Follows the emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency. Maintains order in the pool and adjoining areas. Teaches swimming lessons. Attends workshops/trainings as needed for the position. Knowledge of customer service standard and procedures. Other duties and responsibilities that the Board deems appropriate.
