Salary Range: Contact salary Contract Length: Teacher contract Immediate Supervisor: Principal Basic Function: Must have: Knowledge of the engineering design process Hands-on special class teaching grades K-5, including but not limited to designing, constructing, building, and engineering products based around units of study. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Work cooperatively with classroom teachers and staff to incorporate STEAM units of study. Researching and developing innovative maker activities. Providing inspiration and support for faculty and students in developing and implementing STEAM units of study. Maintaining the tools, materials, and safe use of materials. Being committed to student learning, personal growth, and professional development. Qualifications: Varied professional experience, both in classroom settings and outside of schools; Former entrepreneurs encouraged, having demonstrated ability to independently develop professional connections and skills. Bachelor's degree in related field; advanced degree preferred. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Genuine excitement for and ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and parents. Experience working on interdepartmental projects. Physical Demands: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other technologies and office equipment, sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time; kneeling; bending at the waist; lifting; pushing; pulling and carrying equipment, supplies and materials weighing up to 25 pounds; repetitive hand movement and fine coordination to use a computer keyboard; emotional stability to work effectively under pressure and to keep all aspects of the job under control; hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; seeing to read; prepare and assure the accuracy of documents.
