Job Description

Looking for a PLC-savvy Assembly Seibi Technician with strong hands-on experience supporting assembly equipment from design review through commissioning. Ideal candidates have Toyopuc or AB experience, enjoy vendor buyoffs, troubleshooting during trials, and don't mind travel or overtime in a fast-paced automotive environment. Assembly Seibi TechnicianDepartment: Final Assembly - Production Engineering Travel: Up to 50% (including international at times) Overtime: Up to 30% as required Looking For Final Assembly Production Engineering team is seeking a hands-on Assembly Seibi Technician to support equipment design review, installation, commissioning, and start-up. This role is critical to delivering safe, high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective assembly equipment. Reporting to the Seibi Manager, this technician acts as a technical SME supporting Final Assembly Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams. What You'll Be Doing Review equipment designs and specifications; identify improvement opportunities Support vendor buyoffs to confirm safety, quality, and productivity before shipment Install and commission equipment; verify performance during trials Investigate issues, implement modifications, trial, and fine-tune equipment Reduce cost and timing by validating equipment at vendors prior to installation Oversee vendor installation and support kanban processes Support vehicle trials and make productivity and quality improvements Confirm quality results using secondary verification methods (torque checks, vacuum profiles, etc.) Install, set up, and troubleshoot Toyopuc and Allen-Bradley PLCs Train Maintenance teams on newly installed equipment Share subject-matter expertise with local NAMC Maintenance and Production teams Required Qualifications - What You Bring 2+ years PLC programming & troubleshooting experience Toyopuc, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or Mitsubishi 2+ years experience with: PLC systems Electrical circuits and industrial controls 2-year technical degree or trade school (EET, Industrial Maintenance Tech) or equivalent experience Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings Willingness to travel up to 50% (including international) Physically capable of: Lifting up to 40 lbs Standing, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working at heights Working in hot, cold, or confined environments Comfortable working overtime and long shifts when required Nice to Have / Bonus Experience 2+ years industrial maintenance experience Industrial robot programming and teaching AGV / AMR programming and setup Safety scanners and safety PLC programming Industrial networks: Ethernet/IP, FLNet, ProfiNet Automotive manufacturing experience
