Day Kimball Health is hiring for a Program Assistant to join our WIC (Women, Infants, & Children) department in Willimantic, CT! Location: Willimantic, CT Weekly hours: 38 Daily Hours: 8 Shift: Days Weekends: 6 Saturdays per year Requirement: MUST be bilingual. Secretarial/Clerical experience is preferred. Program Assistant Essential Responsibilities: Assist in the certification of WIC applicants by performing the following activities: Interview applicants to obtain basic demographic data, such as name, address, and contact information Verify identity, residency, and income eligibility by reviewing required documentation Enter all data into the Statewide WIC database Follow up on phone calls for missed appointments Answer WIC phone calls and handling requests for general information, appointment rescheduling, lost WIC benefits, and other inquiries as assigned by the Site Nutritionist or Supervisor Complete necessary paperwork, including maintaining participant files and ensuring accurate documentation Program Assistant Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma required. Associate degree preferred. Bilingual Spanish required. At least 1 year experience in a medical office or social service agency setting. Program Assistant Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent telephone techniques Ability to be empathetic yet firm with client Above Average verbal skills Ability to carry heavy objects to offsite clinics weekly Ability to drive and with access to a car to drive to classes, clinics, and meetings Knowledge of basic computer operations Ability to maintain effective working relationship with supervisor, co-workers and participants Skill in identifying problems and planning their solutions Why Choose Day Kimball Health?
