Salary : $75000 - $80000 The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting and executing core human resources functions with a primary focus on payroll processing, benefits administration, and 401(k) plan management. This role ensures accurate and compliant payroll operations, effective benefits delivery, and retirement plan administration while providing excellent service to employees and leadership. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, compliance-driven, and experienced in HR systems and regulatory requirements. Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Administration Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time. Maintain payroll records including wages, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws. Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies. Coordinate with Finance for payroll journal entries and reporting. Manage year-end payroll processes including W-2 preparation and distribution. Serve as primary liaison with payroll vendor (if applicable). Benefits Administration Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits. Manage benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, and terminations. Conduct new hire benefits orientation. Coordinate and manage annual open enrollment process. Reconcile monthly benefits invoices and ensure accurate premium deductions. Serve as primary contact for employee benefits inquiries. Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations. 401(k) and Retirement Plan Administration Administer the company's 401(k) retirement plan. Process enrollments, contribution changes, loans, and distributions. Coordinate timely transmission of employee and employer contributions. Reconcile 401(k) contributions with payroll. Assist with annual nondiscrimination testing and compliance reporting. Support preparation for annual audits (if applicable). Serve as liaison with third-party administrator and plan advisor. Provide employee education and communication regarding retirement plan options. HR Operations & Compliance Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS. Support onboarding and offboarding processes. Assist with HR reporting and metrics. Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws. Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information. Job Requirements: QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred. Experience: 3+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration. Experience managing 401(k) plans required. Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, etc.). Knowledge of federal and state employment laws. Skills & Competencies: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. High level of confidentiality and integrity. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and HRIS systems.
